Vitthal Teedi Review: Regional filmmakers are now coming up with some really amazing and promising content and audiences are now not only dependent on Bollywood for entertainment, in the regional content market the Gujrati Oho Gujrati platform launched with a new series titled Vitthal Teedi, I just finished the series and here , in my post I’ll review it, I’ll talk about the plot, shows and a few more highlights of the series.
This web series starring Pratik Gandhi (Scam fame 1992) as the main character, this series also stars Ragi Jani, Brinda Trivedi, Prashant Barot, and Prem Gandhi in important roles, this series was made by Abhishek Jain and produced by him as well. The series consists of a total of 6 episodes and all episodes are approximately 30 minutes long and are available in Gujrati audio with English subtitles.
The plot of the series revolves around Vitthal (played by Pratik Gandhi), Vitthal (Pratik Gandhi) can do anything for his family. At a younger age, he lost his mother. Vithal and Vandana were raised by their father who was a priest at the village temple. Her older brother was raised by a maternal uncle. Short of cash, Vithal started playing poker. The money he earned from gambling was used in his household. Vithal manages everything like his elder brother’s study fees, household expenses. One day Vandana promised Vithal that he would never play poker again. Now again they face so many problems. Will he start playing again? or does he have another job? to find out, you should watch the full series on the Oho Gujrati website and App.
Pratik Gandhi as Vithal is fun to watch. This guy is so obsessed with acting that you will never know that you are watching him on screen. Brinda Trivedi as Vandana is too good in her brother’s role. Other actors such as Ragi Jani as father and priest, Prashant Barot as Dasha Bapu who organized events where everyone played poker, and Prem Gandhvi as Kanu datti were all good at their roles.
Even Shraddha Dangar’s cameo role as Manisha was amazing. Special thanks to Vishal Thakkar as Young Vitthal Tripathi and Bhavya Sirohi as Young Vandana Tripathi. Their role as children is also good. Overall the series is full of great shows and everyone is amazing except for a few sequences.
Vitthal Teedi where teedi means 3 on the card. This is the nickname Vitthal he got for being too good at playing poker. This series revolves around poker and Vithal’s life. People who don’t know much about poker may get bored for some time but slowly you will connect yourself to the story. The series shows the problems of the middle to lower class so that it gets emotional too often and the actors’ acting makes you more emotional because it is too hard to believe that these are all fictional settings.
You will still find film locations in the 80s in unspoiled locations. The narrative is good. The songs are in Gujarati but still, you can feel the music and understand it. Again the background music of this series is awesome as is the final 1992 Pratik Gandhi Scam series. You may feel bored between the two, but trust me that your timing and series deserves to end with the promise of season2.
Now coming to the drawbacks, this series is very predictable, nothing like the suspense & thrill in this series, the scenario is really bad and sometimes makes the series boring. The length of the series sometimes seems a little long and the climax of the series leaves us a lot of questions unanswered.
